Shay Maguire was born in Dublin, Ireland and has been painting over 30 years.

Shay paints Dublin city streetscapes in a contemporary and gritty style using palette knife and brush.

In stark contrast, Shay also paints in Mayo, and is renowned for his Bog Cotton watercolours, depicting delicate bog cottons, blowing in the wind against a dramatic, dark and moody sky.

A collection of Shay's Bog Cotton paintings are presently to be viewed in The Open Window Gallery, Rathmines, Dublin.
